    Today is Job Action Day! It’s never too early to start thinking about what you are going to be doing once you grow up. But, if you’re still confused about what you want to do, that’s okay too! The possibilities are endless. You no longer have to be bound to conventional careers like being a doctor or an engineer and have the liberty to work in whatever capacity you wish to, so long as you are dedicated and hardworking. Without any further delay, here are 5 jobs that you’ve never heard of!

If your expertise is shopping, why not help others shop too? As a personal shopper, your main role would be to give advice and suggestion to shoppers as they look for what they need. Typically, personal shoppers focus on clothes but there are now several emerging that focus on a variety of industries such as furniture or electronics. 

Ice cream taster

Just like colours, ice cream flavours are limited only by your imagination.  It takes a special set of skills to do what may seem like a very simple job. Ice cream tasters are essentially food scientists, and with the right educational background and training, they can actually make a lot of money! As an ice cream tester, you’ll most probably be employed by an ice cream company where you will evaluate ice cream on a number of criteria such as taste, texture, smell, consistency etc. Who knew you could get paid for eating ice cream!

Never be afraid to follow your dreams! But in order to dream, you need to first sleep. So, here’s a perfect job for all you dreamers and sleepers- Bed Warmer! As hard as it may be to believe, certain hotels actually employ people to lie in beds like a human hot water bottle to ensure that the bed is at the perfect temperature for the guests. This is one career where it’s completely acceptable to sleep on the job.

Probably the newest career on this list, Chief Listening Officers are one of the most important roles to be handled in social media management. A quickly growing profession, Chief Listening Officers do something similar to what you do in class- They listen. Social media is a field where new trends are constantly emerging. The Chief Listening Officer keeps track of these trends and all relevant activity. Sounds like a perfect job for anyone who likes to spend time on Facebook or Twitter!
